Job Summary
The Applications Engineer’s primary responsibility is to review customer specifications, make equipment selections, determine scope of supply, and to support sales engineers and customers by providing technical and commercial details for complex electro‑mechanical pump packages. You will act as a product specialist in a team and work closely with the sales, development, and other specialist departments at the site.
Responsibilities
- Apply company standards and engineering best practices to make complex pump, driver and control system equipment selections to meet customer needs and specifications.
- Prepare professional and persuasive quotations for the above mentioned systems and packages to win orders following applicable policies and best practices.
- Provide technical and commercial assistance for Sales and Commercial Operations personnel.
- Assure that the project scope of supply and cost includes all commercial and technical requirements detailed in the request for quotation received from the customer, except where specific exceptions are articulated and noted.
- Drive best cost initiatives and ensure clean orders are entered on the factory.
- Review Customer Purchase Orders and handle the transfer to the order fulfillment team following applicable policies.
- Apply and maintain knowledge of applicable industry standards.
- Create and maintain all opportunity quotes in the designated business system and CRM platform.
Qualifications
- Master in Mechanical engineering or Bachelor of Science in Engineering or technical degree from a four‑year college or university, or four to six years of related experience, or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Language proficiency in French and English.
- Working knowledge of fluid mechanics, materials, and mechanical and electrical engineering specifications.
- Experience with Microsoft Office Suite.
- Time‑management skills and workload prioritization.
- Ability to work with geographically dispersed teams worldwide.
- Willingness to travel for customer clarification and project kick‑off meetings when required.
- Experience as an Applications Engineer or a similar role such as inside Sales Representative, Product Engineer, Project Engineer, or I&C Systems Specialist.
- Strong technician acumen and analytical thinking.
- Experience dealing with common MS Office, engineering applications, and contract / project execution.
