Summary of the Assigned Duties, Including Goals and Objectives of the Post

Within the Executive Directorate Investigation Support (EDIS), the INTERPOL Financial Crime and Anti-Corruption Centre (IFCACC) supports member countries in combating financial crime, grand corruption, corruption in sports, money laundering and asset recovery. The incumbent will ensure a good understanding of policing issues and crime trends that impact law enforcement efforts and international police cooperation, and will plan and deliver training and capacity building programs on sports integrity. The role is not supervisory; deployment, resources and budget expenditure are handled by the Coordinator.

Principal Duties and Activities

  • Duty 1: Assistance to Member Countries
    • Assist in developing documentation and presentation materials and conduct research supporting workshops and meetings on sports corruption and sports competition manipulation.
    • Prepare written communications, make oral presentations, complete reports and produce additional documents as required.
  • Duty 2: Capacity Building
    • Plan, design, develop, implement and deliver capacity‑building and training programs on sports integrity and corruption.
  • Duty 3: Research and Outreach
    • Organize, lead and participate in meetings, training courses and conferences on sports corruption.
    • Conduct research supporting meetings and events related to sports integrity and corruption.
    • Assist with outreach and liaison with internal and external stakeholders, handle logistics and general administration of meetings and activities.
  • Duty 4: Analysis
    • Collaborate with financial intelligence and investigation experts to identify transnational crime cases, provide assessments and facilitate coordination and follow‑up.
  • Duty 5: Other
    • Carry out any other duties as directed by the hierarchy.

Education and Qualifications

  • Minimum of 3–4 years of university-level education in a relevant field.
  • At least 3 years of experience in transnational criminal investigations, especially sports manipulation, financial crimes or money laundering.
  • Proven experience in international law‑enforcement co‑operation.
  • Experience in training delivery or presentations is highly desirable.

Languages

  • Professional fluency in English (oral and written) is required.
  • Proficiency in a second official language of INTERPOL (Arabic, French or Spanish) is an asset.

Abilities and Special Aptitudes

  • Sound operational knowledge of transnational and financial crimes.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office to produce training materials.
  • Professional writing skills.
  • Personal and professional maturity; ability to work in teams and independently; work under pressure and meet sudden deadlines; initiative, creativity and curiosity.

Other Information

The position is financed by an external donor; the appointment may be terminated if funding is withdrawn and renewal is not guaranteed. Selected candidates are expected to report to duty within two to three months of offer. This selection exercise may generate a reserve list for future similar staffing needs.

INTERPOL’s Staff Manual Regulation 11.4 allows retirement at age 65, with possible exceptional extension. Candidates reaching 65 during the appointment may see their employment period shortened.
