Located in the heart of historic Montchanin Village, Krazy Kat’s is entering an exciting new chapter under the culinary leadership of James Beard Award semifinalist Chef Dwain Kalup . Set in a historic 1840s building, the restaurant combines an incredible setting with an ambitious new vision for food and hospitality.

We’re looking for an experienced, driven Sous Chef to work alongside Chef Kalup and help lead our culinary team. This is an opportunity for someone who loves the craft of cooking but is also ready to lead—setting standards, developing the team, and helping create an exceptional and consistent kitchen operation.

What You’ll Do

• Work closely with Chef Kalup on daily kitchen operations and menu execution

• Lead and support the culinary team during prep and service

• Maintain high standards for food quality, consistency, presentation, and execution

• Train, coach, and develop line cooks and other kitchen team members

• Help manage prep, production, station readiness, and kitchen organization

• Assist with ordering, inventory, food cost control, and waste reduction

• Maintain rigorous food safety, sanitation, and cleanliness standards

• Step into a leadership role when the Executive Chef is not present

• Help build a positive, professional kitchen culture based on teamwork and accountability

What We’re Looking For

• Strong professional cooking experience, ideally in an upscale or chef-driven restaurant

• Previous kitchen leadership experience

• Excellent culinary fundamentals and attention to detail

• Ability to lead calmly and effectively during busy service

• Strong organizational and communication skills

• High standards for quality, cleanliness, and consistency

• Genuine interest in developing both your craft and the people around you
