Sound Design Evaluator

Overview

The immersive power of sound design is crucial for captivating experiences. This role involves evaluating AI-generated sound effects and ambient audio to ensure they are high-quality, realistic, and contextually appropriate through an expert ear and technical analysis.

Responsibilities

• Rigorously evaluate AI-generated sound effects (SFX) for realism, clarity, and impact.
• Assess the quality and atmospheric coherence of AI-produced ambient audio and soundscapes.
• Identify and categorize common audio artifacts, unnatural characteristics, or inappropriate usage in AI outputs.
• Provide detailed, waveform-level feedback on dynamics, frequency response, and spatialization.
• Analyze AI's ability to match sound to visual cues or narrative context in multimedia projects.
• Contribute to the development of comprehensive quality metrics for automated sound generation.

Qualifications

• 5+ years of professional experience in sound design, audio engineering, or post-production for games, film, or multimedia.
• Expert proficiency in Digital Audio Workstations (DAWs) such as Pro Tools, Logic Pro, Ableton Live, or Reaper.
• Deep understanding of audio principles, including psychoacoustics, mixing, mastering, and spatial audio.
• Exceptional critical listening skills and ability to discern subtle nuances in sound quality.
• Experience with various sound synthesis techniques, Foley artistry, or field recording is a plus.
• Ability to clearly articulate technical feedback using industry-standard audio terminology.
