Job Description - Solutions Architect (AWS / Java / Spring Boot)
Role Overview
We are seeking an experienced Solutions Architect to design, guide, and oversee the development of cloud-native microservices on AWS. The ideal candidate combines solid hands-on Java/Spring Boot expertise with a strong architectural vision and in-depth knowledge of identity management using Okta.
Key Responsibilities
Design and define the target architecture for applications based on a microservices approach on AWS.
Drive technical decisions regarding service decomposition, API design, scalability, resilience, and security.
Provide hands‑on technical guidance to development teams on Java/Spring Boot best practices.
Design and implement identity and access management solutions using Okta (SSO, OAuth2/OIDC, SAML, user lifecycle management).
Define standards for CI/CD, Infrastructure-as-Code (IaC), observability, and cloud governance.
Ensure architectural consistency, code quality, and adherence to best practices.
Collaborate with stakeholders (developers, DevOps, security teams, product owners).
Required Technical Skills
Java (proven expertise) and Spring Boot (microservices development).
Design and deployment of microservices on AWS (ECS/EKS, Lambda, API Gateway, ECR, etc.).
Proficiency in Okta and authentication/authorization protocols (OAuth2, OIDC, SAML).
Solid understanding of distributed architectures (messaging, event-driven, REST APIs).
Experience with DevOps practices: CI/CD, containerization (Docker/Kubernetes), Infrastructure-as-Code (Terraform, CloudFormation).
Knowledge of cloud security principles and secrets management.
Preferred Skills
AWS Certifications (Solutions Architect, Developer).
Experience with observability tools (Dynatrace, Datadog, CloudWatch). Knowledge of SQL and NoSQL databases on AWS (RDS, DynamoDB).
Desired Profile
Significant experience in cloud solution architecture (ideally 5+ years).
Ability to combine strategic vision with hands‑on technical involvement.
Excellent communication and technical leadership skills.
Autonomy, attention to detail, and a collaborative mindset.
