Job Summary

We are looking to expand our Service Department team for the Netherlands branch in s‑'Hertogenbosch. Supermicro, a recognized name in motherboards, servers, and comprehensive solutions, serves major customers across industries through service contracts.

About the Position

As a Datacenter Solution Engineer you will be part of the Supermicro Global Service Installation Team, performing racking, installation of server hardware, network equipment, and cable routing (copper and fiber optic). You will deliver technical support for installed equipment (hardware and software), assist the Solutions Manager, and contribute to the service desk handling support tickets. You will also conduct on‑site hardware break‑fixes and customer interactions.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

• Perform physical installation, rack, stack, cabling, and networking of data center hardware.
• Assist/support the implementation of server, storage, and network equipment.
• Coordinate with the engineering team to ensure seamless integration of hardware solutions.
• Verify proper installation according to specifications.
• Conduct quality checks and test functionality after installation.
• Provide first‑line technical support to end users via telephone, email, and ticketing system.
• Escalate complex issues to higher‑level support teams when necessary.
• Be willing to travel internationally and locally for installations or data center support, including occasional extended hours and weekend work.

Qualifications

• Minimum 5 years of experience servicing complex x86 systems and components in a datacenter environment.
• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or comparable level obtained through experience (Dutch MBO4 acceptable).
• Strong written and verbal communication skills; excellent command of English; Dutch a plus.
• Good understanding of Windows and Linux environments.
• Knowledge of scripting (Bash, PHP, Python, etc.) is a plus.
• Demonstrated hardware system analytics and diagnostics skills, with understanding of BIOS, drivers, and application loads.
• Ability to work in a challenging, dynamic, fast‑paced environment; solution‑oriented, team player with prompt issue escalation and proactive solution driving.
• Emphasis on break/fix and on‑site customer service.
• Hands‑on experience with enterprise‑grade server hardware.
• Residency within a 40 km radius of s‑'Hertogenbosch.
