Software Project Manager

We are now on our way for our next major milestone: an in-orbit demonstration in 2027, where two complete satellites will be deployed to further validate the system end-to-end. UNIVITY is looking for a Software Project Manager to join the team Toulouse office, reporting to the Unishape Program Manager.
As Software Project Manager you will be drive the delivery of strategic software products vital to the development and operation of Univity’s innovative satellite communication system. These software products support all the technological bricks of the system, including onboard software, ground segment software, mission applications, satellite operations platforms, and digital space services.
Your key responsibilities and tasks:
Software Project Management
- Lead cross-functional teams towards the overall delivery of software products throughout their lifecycle.
- Plan and coordinate all software development activities in line with overall program objectives.
- Ensure consistency of this development plan with other developments (e.g. hardware).
- Manage software development schedules, budgets, and resource planning.
- Monitor progress against baseline plans.
- Identify, assess, and mitigate software development risks and opportunities.
- Manage subcontractors, suppliers, and industrial partners.
- Control scope change and ensure effective configuration management.
- Ensure software lifecycle processes comply with company quality procedures.
- Participate in major project reviews, including System Requirements Review (SRR); Preliminary Design Review (PDR); Critical Design Review (CDR); Qualification Review (QR); Acceptance Review (AR) interfacing with suppliers and customers as required.
Technical Coordination
- Ensure the overall software architecture is aligned with the technical objectives and the hardware design.
- Work closely with: Software Engineering Managers, System Engineering Managers, Verification, Validation & Qualification (IVVQ), Quality Assurance, Configuration Management, Cybersecurity, Ground Segment, Operations and Infrastructure teams.
- Coordinate technical priorities and resolve cross-functional issues.
- Ensure consistency between technical objectives and program commitments.
- Perform peer reviews of functional requirements, code, and IVVQ activities.
Profile required
Skills and experience
- Minimum master’s degree level qualification in software engineering or software delivery.
- Minimum of 5 years managing complex software projects or programs.
- Experience in software reliability and redundancy management.
- Experience leading cross-functional teams
- Experience in software architecture
- Experience in SoC software development
- Experience in telecom will be a plus
- Experience with institutional customers (ESA, CNES, EUSPA, ESA Member States) is highly desirable.
- Experience with industry software standard such as ECSS; CCSDS; ISO 9001; EN 9100; ISO/IEC 12207
- Excellent written and oral communication skills in French and English.
