Software Product Lead, reporting to a Department Manager of Digital For Operational Excellence Departement, to join the Engineering Digital Products team based in Nanterre, Paris, France.

About the role
Engineering Digital Products is a department within Technip Energies’ Information Technology (Digiteam). The Digiteam Engineering Digital Products department ensures that all software solutions used by the T.EN Engineering support and enhance delivery. The team partners with T.EN Engineering business stakeholders to manage products across the full build-to-run lifecycle.
- Establishes strategic governance and lifecycle frameworks required to manage products across the full build-to-run continuum.
- Oversees intake and prioritization of business needs, coordinating into digital or technology initiatives.
- Ensures coherent execution across software, data, infrastructure, cybersecurity, and enterprise architecture with governance, alignment, and measurable value creation.
- Lead a team of Software Application Leads for the Material Take Off Portfolio within T.EN engineering disciplines (Piping, Civil & Structural, Electrical and Instrumentation) and own one Material Take Off application.
The Software Product Lead manages and coordinates Software Application Leads related to Demand, Build, and Run of the Material Take Off Applications, aligned with Digiteam standards and strategy, while owning at least one Material Take Off application. Collaborates with the Business Product Owner of the Material Take Off Portfolio to ensure delivery and continuity of the solution to T.EN.
Key responsibilities
- Provide leadership to the team of Software Application Leads (team of 4).
- Manage teams responsible for animation of the product from new developments to enhancements, functional support, and production troubleshooting.
- Establish and maintain the Product roadmap with the Business Product Owner.
- Partner with Business Product Owners to ensure proper prioritization of initiatives.
- Implement governance and operating framework for the product domain, including meeting cadence, responsibilities, and stakeholder alignment.
- Responsible for project initiation, solution implementation, testing, and deployment coordination.
- Ensure design and development of software applications meet business needs with emphasis on usability, scalability, and secure architecture.
- Ensure product functionalities align with business requirements and deliverables align with defined objectives and key results within budget.
- Collaborate with stakeholders for delivery of interfaces and features on other products.
- Ensure product delivery adheres to Digiteam standards and guidelines.
- Manage yearly budget process for product run, enhancements, and initiatives.
- Manage financial and ESG forecast of product cost and initiatives.
- Manage resources for each product in alignment with People & Culture Strategy.
- Assess risk with the Enterprise Risk Management team on a quarterly basis.
- Manage product obsolescence based on roadmaps defined by platforms and other product teams.
- Monitor and analyze key performance metrics to measure product success and identify improvement opportunities.
- Communicate product updates to leadership and key stakeholders.
- Coordinate with Digiteam Software Engineering to implement run processes with measurable KPIs, OLAs/SLAs.
- Ensure secure software operations and support; manage day-to-day operations and lifecycle management (planning, development, testing, deployment, maintenance, obsolescence, retirement).
- Maintain knowledge of business use, architecture, operations and management.
Qualifications
- Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science or a related field.
- Professional certification in Agile and Project Management methodologies.
Knowledge/Skills
- Experience in product/platform operating models and agile at scale methodologies.
- Experience delivering a software product and leading a team of software product leads.
- Understanding of IT infrastructure and strong interpersonal skills for working with stakeholders at all levels.
- Change management facilitation and ability to guide adoption of new processes and technologies.
- Ability to manage remote teams and work effectively with contractors.
- Proven leadership in a matrix organization, with project management and problem-solving abilities.
- Strong written and spoken communication and presentation skills.
- Ability to work with multicultural, globally distributed teams.
- Multitasking, ownership, initiative, and autonomy; team player.
Must Have
- 10+ years of experience in governance, delivery and management of a portfolio of software related to engineering or construction in the energy industry.
- Experience and understanding of engineering, procurement and construction workflows related to Material Take Off.
- Experience conducting framing workshops.
- Experience with AzureDevOps.
Nice to Have
- Software development or solution architecture experience.
- Knowledge of industry trends and best practices in product and project management.
- Knowledge of emerging data and AI technologies and a passion for staying up to date with developments.
