Job Description

As a Software Engineer on the PasqOS team, you will collaborate with researchers, physicists, and hardware personnel to develop and maintain the operating system that runs on Quantum Processing Units. Your responsibilities include:

• Implement new features, hardware drivers, or software enhancements on PasqOS for various research QPUs.
• Deploy PasqOS on QPUs, assist the research and deployment teams with tuning and testing.
• Investigate potential problems with the QPU system and collaborate with the System team on tuning and optimizing hardware.
• Help integrate PasqOS with other components of the Pasqal Software ecosystem (cloud services, quantum libraries, etc.).
• Suggest and implement tools to enhance deployment and upgrading of the QPUs.
• Evaluate PasqOS performance and propose improvements and optimizations.

Qualifications

• You have a master’s degree or an engineering degree specializing in computer science, with over 3 years of experience in software development and integration with hardware equipment.
• Your professional background covers the entire software development lifecycle.
• You have a genuine interest in new technologies and scientific challenges.
• You are capable of working autonomously, taking responsibility for projects while collaborating with the team.

Technical Skills

• Proficiency in Python development and knowledge of a native language (C, C++ or Rust).
• Strong experience with version control (Git) and CI tools (GitLab).
• Experience interfacing with low-level drivers and hardware drivers.
• Proficiency with Linux (configuration, networking, USB devices).
• Database management experience with PostgreSQL.
• Rust experience or willingness to learn is a plus.
• Front-end experience (React) is a plus.
• Proficiency in English and French (oral and written).
