Software Engineer – Nuclear Engineering Tools

• Maintain and enhance existing software tools to meet the needs of engineering communities
• Design, develop, and integrate robust, efficient, and scalable software components
• Diagnose and resolve issues related to engineering data
• Diagnose and resolve software performance, reliability, and usability issues
• Write clean, efficient, well-documented code that complies with development standards
• Participate in testing and quality assurance activities
• Ensure software reliability and compliance with nuclear safety requirements
• Collaborate with international, multidisciplinary teams to support global customers

Requirements

• Engineering degree or equivalent in mechanical engineering or a STEM discipline (Science, Technology, Engineering, and Mathematics)
• At least 2 years of professional software engineering experience, with a focus on developing engineering tools or similar applications
• Experience in numerical and/or scientific computing applied to engineering problems
• Experience developing and maintaining Windows desktop applications
• Proficiency in one or more of the following languages: Fortran, C, C++, C#, Java, Python
• General understanding of engineering disciplines such as thermodynamics, aerodynamics, heat transfer, and fluid mechanics
• Familiarity with version control, unit testing, continuous integration, the software development life cycle (SDLC), refactoring, testing techniques, and Agile methodologies
• Ability to work with international, multidisciplinary teams
• Self-motivated, accountable, and able to analyze complex issues and make fact-based arguments
