Software Engineer Java (Mirakl Labs)

Position type: Permanent contract, based in Paris with up to one day of remote work per week.

Your role : You will design, develop, and deploy new business features proposed by the Product Manager. Your day‑to‑day work will span the full stack – from user interfaces (UI or REST API) through the business logic layer, to database schema design and scripting. You will own the technical quality and stability of the product, collaborating closely with a small, cross‑functional team.

Day‑to‑day activities

• Build, test, and ship features to production through continuous delivery.
• Use AI‑powered tools such as Claude Code, Codex, and Cursor to accelerate development.
• Participate in design sessions with developers, the Product Manager, and UX/UI designers.
• Shape technical decisions that drive the product forward.
• Improve code quality through reviews and pair programming.
• Own your work – monitor, debug, and resolve production issues end to end.
• Take part in stand‑ups, sprint reviews, and retrospectives.
• Contribute to defining the labs roadmap for the next quarter.
• Drive continuous improvement in software development processes.
• Track the real‑world impact of your features: business cycles, adoption, and usage.

Tech stack

Java 21 (planned migration to 25), Spring Boot, Kafka, React/Redux, PostgreSQL, Elasticsearch, Go, Docker, Kubernetes, AWS, Google Cloud.

Requirements

• At least 5 years of experience with Java and Spring.
• Curiosity and pragmatism regarding AI technologies and their impact on development.
• Experience with web‑scale challenges and distributed architectures.
• Commitment to clean, well‑crafted code.
• A desire for a real voice in technical decisions, rather than a passive role.
• Ability to thrive in fast‑paced, demanding environments.
• Hungry for continuous learning and skill sharpening.
• Fluency in French and professional proficiency in English.
