The mission of Speechify is to make sure that reading is never a barrier to learning. Over 50 million people use Speechify’s text-to-speech products to turn whatever they’re reading – PDFs, books, Google Docs, news articles, websites – into audio, so they can read faster, read more, and remember more. Speechify’s text-to-speech reading products include its iOS app, Android App, Mac App, Chrome Extension, and Web App.

Today, nearly 200 people around the globe work on Speechify in a 100% distributed setting.

Overview

With the growth of our iOS app, we need a Senior iOS Engineer to support our expanding user base and contribute to new, exciting projects that push our product forward.

This role is ideal for someone who thinks strategically, enjoys a fast‑paced environment, is passionate about product decisions, and has experience building great user experiences that delight users.

What You’ll Do

• Lead key engineering and product decisions
• Actively ship production code for the Speechify iOS app
• Work within a dedicated product team
• Participate in product discussions to shape the roadmap
• Maintain and enhance the existing complex app architecture

An Ideal Candidate Should Have

• Experience building products that scaled to a large user base
• Track record of engineering products from inception to traction
• Customer obsession – continuously improving the user experience for direct customers
• Product thinking – making thoughtful decisions and guiding designers and internal teams
• Speed – generating ideas quickly and deciding what can ship now versus what needs time
• Focus – knowing when to engage or work independently in a high‑growth, remote setting
• Technical skills in Swift and SwiftUI

Technical Requirements

• Swift Programming Language
• SwiftUI experience
• Multithreading programming skills
• Experience with CI/CD infrastructure
• Experience with Fastlane
• Solid understanding of SOLID principles
• Proficiency with Git and knowledge of different Git strategies

Salary

The France‑based salary range for this role is: $30,000–$100,000 USD/Year + Bonus + Stock depending on experience.
