Job Responsibilities
We are seeking an experienced Software Engineer to help advance the Interhaptics haptic engine and support the immersive ecosystem powered by Wyvrn. This role focuses on developing high-performance, real-time haptic systems that power current and next-generation devices. You will design, build, and optimise core engine components, owning features end-to-end from architecture through deployment. The position requires strong C/C++ expertise and deep knowledge of performance-critical systems, multithreading, and real-time optimisation. You will collaborate cross-functionally with hardware, platform, SDK, and experience teams to ensure seamless integration across desktop, mobile, and console environments. Experience with haptics, interactive engines (e.g., Unity or Unreal), hardware-integrated ecosystems, or immersive technologies is a plus.
About the Role
We are looking for an experienced Software Engineer to help drive the evolution of our Interhaptics haptic engine and supports the immersive ecosystem enabled by Wyvrn. In this role, you will operate at the core of our software stack, developing high-performance, real-time haptic systems that power both current and next-generation devices. You will collaborate closely with multiple Razer teams, including hardware, platform, SDK, and experience teams, while maintaining strong autonomy and ownership over your technical scope.
What You’ll Do
- Design, develop, and maintain core components of the Interhaptics haptic engine
- Own features end-to-end, from architecture and implementation to testing and optimisation
- Build scalable software abstractions to support both existing and upcoming haptic devices
- Implement high-performance, real-time haptic rendering and playback systems
- Optimise system performance and minimise latency across desktop, mobile, and console platforms
- Collaborate with multiple internal teams to ensure seamless integration within the broader ecosystem
- Contribute to SDKs, APIs, and developer-facing tools
- Troubleshoot and resolve complex cross-platform and cross-device issues
Pre-Requisites
- Strong professional experience in software development, with a focus on performance-critical systems
- Proficiency in C/C++
- Experience designing and implementing robust, maintainable software architectures
- Solid understanding of multithreading, real-time systems, performance optimisation, and debugging
- Ability to work autonomously, take ownership of projects, and proactively drive technical solutions
- Comfortable collaborating across multiple teams and disciplines within a large organisation
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience with haptic systems, real-time engines, or interactive technologies
- Experience working within multi-device or hardware-integrated ecosystems
- Familiarity with Unity, Unreal Engine, Android, iOS, or console development
- Knowledge of device communication standards (USB, HID, Bluetooth, etc.)
- Interest in immersive technologies, sensory feedback, or human perception
