Job Responsibilities

  • Design, develop, and maintain core components of the Interhaptics haptic engine.
  • Own features end-to-end, from architecture and implementation to testing and optimisation.
  • Build scalable software abstractions to support both existing and upcoming haptic devices.
  • Implement high-performance, real-time haptic rendering and playback systems.
  • Optimise system performance and minimise latency across desktop, mobile, and console platforms.
  • Collaborate with multiple internal teams to ensure seamless integration within the broader ecosystem.
  • Contribute to SDKs, APIs, and developer-facing tools.
  • Troubleshoot and resolve complex cross-platform and cross-device issues.

Pre-Requisites

  • Strong professional experience in software development, with a focus on performance-critical systems.
  • Proficiency in C/C++.
  • Experience designing and implementing robust, maintainable software architectures.
  • Solid understanding of multithreading, real-time systems, performance optimisation, and debugging.
  • Ability to work autonomously, take ownership of projects, and proactively drive technical solutions.
  • Comfortable collaborating across multiple teams and disciplines within a large organisation.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience with haptic systems, real-time engines, or interactive technologies.
  • Experience working within multi-device or hardware-integrated ecosystems.
  • Familiarity with Unity, Unreal Engine, Android, iOS, or console development.
  • Knowledge of device communication standards (USB, HID, Bluetooth, etc.).
  • Interest in immersive technologies, sensory feedback, or human perception.
