Staying true to our principles of simplicity, flexibility, and technical excellence, we have become one of the leading players in Europe in the sector.With the rise of artificial intelligence, we have strengthened our commitment, supported by the Iliad Group, which is investing €3 billion to develop a serious, sovereign AI alternative to American and Asian giants.Every day, thanks to our rich catalog of products and services (bare metal, containerization, serverless, AI, etc.), Scaleway proudly serves 38,000 private and public sector clients, from Photoroom to Mistral AI, Golem AI, and ADEME.Our offices are located in Paris, Lille, Toulouse, Bordeaux, Rouen, Rennes and Lyon.WHY WE NEED YOU ?Our growth is driving us to strengthen our Elastic Metal team to accelerate the feature roadmap and scale the reliability of our bare metal platform.Your mission will be to contribute to the development and reliability of Elastic Metal's core services in order to deliver a robust, scalable, and autonomous bare metal solution.YOUR FUTURE TEAM :We work in a collaborative and international environment where the diversity of Scalers, combined with a spirit of sharing, helps bring new projects to life every day, advancing our ambitions together.You will be part of a team of 8 DevOps engineers (soon to split into two squads), responsible for developing the Elastic Metal stack: a production environment operating over 15,000 servers across 6 availability zones.The team is full-remote, highly collaborative, and practices pair programming and agile rituals. You’ll also work closely with other Scaleway teams such as Hardware Support, Network, Admin Console, and Gateway.Manager : Erwan Paillard is an Engineering Manager at Scaleway with over 5 years of leadership experience. He leads the BareMetal team and brings strong expertise in backend development (Go, Python) and distributed systems, combining deep technical skills with proven management capabilities in high-demand environments.YOUR DAILY ROUTINE :Tasks

• Develop and maintain microservices powering the Elastic Metal platform (mainly in Go)
• Work on features that enhance automation, provisioning, cleaning, and server lifecycle operations
• Analyze, debug, and propose solutions to complex bare metal-related issues
• Conduct code reviews and participate in pair programming sessions
• Design, build and optimize CI/CD pipelines
• Contribute to system observability using tools like Prometheus and Grafana
• Collaborate in Agile ceremonies (daily stand-ups, sprint planning, retros, etc.)
• Write and maintain internal documentation for tooling and services
• Interact with cross-functional teams to support new hardware and improve infrastructure capabilities
• Take part in shaping technical direction and long-term product vision

Hardskills

• Proficiency in Go development (mandatory)
• Solid experience with Linux environments and containerization (Docker)
• Strong foundation in SQL and Git workflows
• Experience with CI/CD practices and tools
• Hands-on knowledge of bare metal infrastructure, server imaging, and hardware lifecycle
• Bonus: RabbitMQ or NATS, gRPC, Prometheus, Grafana, Packer, BMC, Redfish
