Software Engineer, Deployment Infrastructure

Role Summary

We are seeking experienced backend software engineers to join our Deployment team. You will help deploy and integrate our models, APIs, and AI Studio across multiple infrastructure configurations, from leading cloud providers to self‑hosted solutions. You’ll work closely with research, product, architecture, and program management teams to deliver frontier models to customers wherever they use our technology.

What You Will Do

• Ensure fast and reliable launch of new products (models, APIs) for customers.
• Build and test infrastructure to package, deploy, and integrate our core technology for first‑party systems and third‑party platforms.
• Help solve AI safety challenges on third‑party platforms.
• Collaborate with internal and external stakeholders to achieve high availability and state‑of‑the‑art performance.
• Build automation to increase deployment performance (velocity, scalability).
• Foster architecture improvements to make our products deployable on all configurations, including on‑premise.
• Drive cross‑functional feature improvements with other engineering teams (Le Chat, API/SDK, Mistral Code).
• Contribute to key technology and architecture trade‑offs, breaking the deployment stack into small, maintainable, and testable pieces.

About You

• 5+ years of relevant professional work experience.
• Master’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology or a related field.
• Excellent proficiency in backend software development (Python, Golang).
• Strong proficiency in infrastructure management (Docker, CI/CD, Kubernetes, Helm, Terraform).
• Good knowledge of cloud ecosystems and the challenges of deploying LLM in multiple environments.
• Autonomous, self‑starter profile.
• Ability to communicate with influence.

Location & Remote

The position is based in our Paris HQ offices. We encourage in‑office presence as much as possible (at least 3 days per week) to foster bonds and smooth communication. Remote work is allowed with flexibility; each manager may decide the number of remote days based on context and autonomy. Employees are expected to maintain regular communication with their teams and be available during core working hours.
