At GCI, we solve the hard problems. As a SME Software Developer, a typical day will include the following duties.
Required Skills
Demonstrated experience with IT Project Management, Systems Engineering, Software Engineering, and Software Development.
Experience with Agile requirements management and sprint planning for technical IT development teams.
Proficiency with Agile project management tools and repositories (e.g., Jira, Confluence, GitHub).
Effective communication with technical and non‑technical stakeholders and customer leadership.
Experience facilitating requirements discussions and stakeholder interviews; ensuring documentation, coordination, analysis, traceability, verification, and validation of IT system requirements.
Experience architecting and designing enterprise IT systems for mission use.
Experience designing and developing SecDevOps pipelines supporting CI/CD microservices on cloud infrastructure using tools such as Ansible, GitHub, and Jenkins.
Familiarity with customer’s SecDevOps tools (CI/CD, code repositories, testing suites).
Application of security policy, counterintelligence, and security controls to systems.
Troubleshooting support for IT systems within the Intelligence Community (IC) environment.
Operation, maintenance, and system administration for cloud infrastructure, servers, and environments.
Experience with object‑oriented programming languages, relational and NoSQL databases, IT system testing, and configuration management.
Use of IT operational status tools such as AWS; implementation of monitoring and logs (Splunk dashboards, ElasticSearch, ServiceNow).
Database experience with NoSQL, SQL, Oracle, RDS, or PostgreSQL.
Development of web services and microservices using Node.js, REST APIs, ExpressJS, Spring MVC, and Spring Boot.
Deployment and operation of CI/CD pipeline tool suites.
Knowledge of additional web UI frameworks such as React or ExtJS.
Experience with Linux (e.g., CentOS).
Desired Skills
- Coordination with customer and IC stakeholders on deployments, requirements, troubleshooting, and system status.
- Design and implementation of system integrations and data exchanges between NSA and Sponsor systems.
- Deployment, operation, and maintenance of web services on cloud infrastructure, including experience with customer’s C2E environment.
A candidate must be a US Citizen and requires an active/current TS/SCI with Polygraph clearance.
