Position Overview
The Backend Software Engineer plays a key role within the Software team, contributing to the development and evolution of backend systems supporting the NiDAR platform.
Working closely with cross‑functional teams, you will design, build, and optimise scalable backend services while contributing to system architecture modernisation. This role is critical in delivering robust, high‑performance solutions in mission‑critical environments.
Responsibilities
- Develop and maintain backend applications aligned with product roadmap and project needs
- Contribute to system architecture improvements and modernisation initiatives
- Collaborate with cross‑functional teams to deliver scalable and reliable solutions
- Support and mentor junior engineers within the team
- Proactively communicate progress, risks, and technical solutions
- Contribute to continuous improvement of development practices
Education and Experience
- Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Computer Science, or related discipline (Master’s or PhD advantageous)
- Minimum 5+ years’ experience in software development
- Strong experience in backend development using Golang and/or Python
- Solid understanding of system design and architecture
- Experience working in Linux environments
- Strong networking knowledge (TCP/IP and related concepts)
- Experience with version control tools (e.g. Git)
