Software and Information Systems Architect

• Design and evolve the architecture of applications, services, and digital products in line with business needs and the IS roadmap
• Support development teams in their design decisions and ensure consistency across components
• Identify opportunities to simplify, modernize, and restructure existing systems
• Incorporate requirements for performance, availability, resilience, scalability, maintainability, and security from the design stage
• Contribute to the selection of technologies, frameworks, patterns, and technical solutions
• Advance architecture practices and define shared principles, rules, and documentation methods
• Collaborate with SRE, Infrastructure, and Security teams on cloud, infrastructure, observability, and security topics
• Address cross-functional IS challenges, particularly containerization and technological developments related to AI
• Work closely with developers, Product Owners, SRE, QA, Infrastructure, and Security teams on a daily basis

Requirements

• Strong software development experience
• Experience designing and evolving online applications, distributed systems, and APIs
• Experience working in cloud and containerized environments
• Ability to adapt application-to-application communication methods and integration approaches to the constraints of existing systems
• Consideration of application security, performance, availability, and scalability from the design stage
• Ability to analyze an existing system and propose a realistic evolution roadmap
• Ability to balance architectural quality, complexity, technical debt, costs, and operational constraints
• Ability to document and explain decisions to stakeholders with varying levels of technical expertise
• Ability to support teams while remaining close to the code and engineering challenges
• Experience with Kubernetes and AWS is a plus
• Experience with event-driven architectures and asynchronous systems is a plus
• Knowledge of observability, system reliability, and SRE is a plus
• Experience formalizing architectural decisions, such as through ADRs, and using modeling approaches, such as C4, is a plus
• Experience modernizing existing applications or information systems is a plus
• Experience using AI for development, documentation, or architecture design is a plus
