Overview

Amazon is seeking a Site Process Expert to work in the EU Process Excellence (EUSC PE) team. The Site Process Expert is a field onsite position and will need to adapt to local shift requirements, depending on Operations need. This role will be based in one of our Sortation Centres (SC).

About the EU PE Team

The EU PE team is a group of operational leaders driving process stabilization, standardization, and continuous improvement for the EU SC network. The team works closely with Core Process Experts (CPE), Change Managers (CM), Operations, Ops Excellence, Program teams, Engineering and reliability and maintenance (RME) teams to improve input metrics for each process path by prioritizing and channeling resources. The team ensures operations teams are equipped with functional expertise to deliver expected gains from technology advances and network‑wide process improvements. The Site Process Expert collaborates with the SC Senior Leadership Team and EU PE functions to deploy initiatives, build relationships, drive compliance, and influence meaningful results that translate into tangible productivity and efficiency gains.

Key Responsibilities

  • Work on Back to Basics (B2B) initiatives: identify the top opportunities in the SC relative to other EU SCs, start from the bottom 50% processes, assess input metrics with the biggest gaps to benchmark, and implement improvement action plans in close collaboration with local Operations Management.
  • Oversee the SC improvement program and align focus with SC Senior Leadership.
  • Dive deep into process performance using standard reporting or custom data analysis, present findings in daily dive‑deep meetings, and convert insights into tangible improvement plans.
  • Review open Action Plans weekly, engage SC stakeholders to complete actions, and reach target outcomes.
  • Collaborate with Process Improvement Experts, Change Managers, and other Site PEs to clarify process details, leverage expertise, and benchmark initiatives to reduce variation across SCs.
  • Drive network best‑practice implementation: leverage local initiatives led with local Ops, share with EU PE, and, once approved, add to the EU Best‑Practice repository to help the top 50% SCs reach best in class through variation reduction.
  • Strengthen the framework for capturing and scaling SC innovation: funnel new ideas and projects through a standard process and present to CPE for review.
  • Join daily Gemba walks on the floor with SC Leadership to stay aligned on top issues and associate feedback.
  • Support the Site Leader and SC Senior Management Team in building strong relationships, gaining trust and buy‑in for initiatives; provide ad‑hoc process support (≤10% of time).
  • During Q4, deploy to the site management operational team as needed.
  • Travel as required within the area of responsibility (domestic and regional travel estimate 0‑10%).

Day in the Life

You will collaborate with cross‑functional teams to identify improvement opportunities, analyze performance metrics, and implement solutions. You will participate in daily operational reviews, engage with leadership teams, and help develop best practices that can be scaled across the network. Your role combines analytical thinking with relationship building to drive meaningful change.
