Description

Amazon is seeking a Site Process Expert to work in the EU Process Excellence (EUSC PE) team. The role is a field‑on‑site position at one of our Sortation Centres (SC) and will require adapting to local shift requirements based on operations needs.

The EU PE team consists of operational leaders who drive process stabilization, standardization, and continuous improvement across the EU SC network. They establish best‑in‑class process performance across direct and indirect processes, accelerate technological advancements, and strengthen the technical acumen and process knowledge of SC leaders. The team works closely with Core Process Experts, Change Managers, Operations, Ops Excellence, Program teams, Engineering, and Reliability & Maintenance to improve input metrics for each process path, prioritizing and channeling resources.

The Site Process Expert collaborates with the SC Senior Leadership Team and EU PE functions to deploy initiatives, build relationships, and ensure compliance within assigned timelines. This role initiates and implements EU‑wide improvement activities, demonstrating ownership, understanding initiatives in detail, and influencing stakeholders to deliver tangible productivity and efficiency gains. You will gain insights into Lean SixSigma tools and techniques and, through this role, graduate as a Green/Yellow Belt.

Key Job Responsibilities

Work on Back to Basics (B2B) initiatives to identify the top opportunities in the SC compared to other EU SCs. Start from the bottom 50% processes, focus on input metrics with the largest gaps to benchmark, and implement improvement action plans in close collaboration with the local Operations Management team following standard templates.

  • Oversee the SC improvement program and prioritize focus areas in alignment with the SC Senior Leadership team.
  • Dive deep into process performance using standard reporting or custom data analysis, call out findings in daily dive‑deep meetings, and collect feedback from the local team to develop tangible improvement plans.
  • Review open action plans weekly, engage SC stakeholders to complete suggested actions, and reach desired targets.
  • Collaborate with Process Improvement Experts, Change Managers, and other Site PEs in the region to clarify process questions and leverage expertise. Benchmarking initiatives are highly recommended to reduce variation across SCs.

Work on Continuous Improvement with the SC

  • Drive network best‑practice implementation, leveraging local initiatives led with Ops and share them with EU PE for review. Once approved, the best practice is added to the EU Best Practice repository, helping the top 50% SCs reach Best In Class through variation reduction.
  • Strengthen the framework used to capture and scale SC innovation. New ideas and projects flow through a standard process and are presented to the CPE for review.

Partnership with the SC Ops

  • Join daily Gemba on the floor with SC Leadership to stay aligned with top issues and associate feedback.
  • Support the Site Leader and SC Senior Management Team, building strong relationships that build trust and buy‑in for all initiatives. The Site PE also supports ad‑hoc process tasks from the SC, accounting for less than 10% of working time.
  • During Q4, you will be deployed to the site‑management operational team based on building needs.
  • Ability to travel as needed within your area of responsibility. Domestic and regional travel averages 0–10% (subject to change based on business need).

A Day in the Life

Collaboration with cross‑functional teams to identify improvement opportunities, analyze performance metrics, and implement solutions. Participation in daily operational reviews, engagement with leadership teams, and development of scalable best practices across the network. The role combines analytical thinking with relationship building to drive meaningful change.

Basic Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree or relevant work experience.
  • English and the local language (based on location) at Common European Framework of Reference level C1.
  • Experience in Amazon Operations as an Area Manager or comparable role.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Strong professional experience with Lean, Six Sigma, and Kaizen methodologies.
  • Relevant knowledge of change management and continuous improvement methodologies.
  • Excellent communication skills and detail orientation.
  • Ability to thrive in a fast‑paced environment.
  • Ability to influence senior stakeholders in adopting change.
