Job Summary
Key member of the Asset Management Team, reporting to the Area Manager for the allocated area. Oversees the safe and optimal performance of renewable energy assets, managing contractors to execute planned and corrective maintenance across the region. Responsible for operation and maintenance of four wind power plants (5-6 turbines each), ensuring procedures, supplier best practices, and health and safety compliance.
Key Responsibilities
- HSQE - Ensure safety of all personnel, uphold HSQE standards, conduct audits, document incidents, lead emergency planning.
- Contractor Management - Maintain contractor performance, implement work plans, audit contract deliverables, engage stakeholders, support procurement and project management to meet schedule and budget.
- Technical Operations - Operate plants safely and efficiently, identify and mitigate performance risks, inspect contractor work, coordinate HV safety authorization and component exchanges, investigate outages, support fault-finding and value-added projects.
- Commercial Management - Deliver works within defined budgets, provide inputs to annual operating and CAPEX budgets, manage wind farm profitability, communicate variances, pursue performance improvements.
- Reporting - Produce monthly operational reports, collaborate with Operational Analysts on turbine performance, write business case inputs.
- On-Call - Participate in rotational on-call rota, available for site attendance outside normal hours.
Preferred Technical Experience
- 2-5 years experience managing onshore wind farms.
- Knowledge of documentation, monitoring and reporting best practices.
- Experience with PV plants is beneficial.
Skills & Knowledge
- Clear written and verbal communication at all levels.
- Wind turbine fault analysis and participation in corrective action planning.
- Strong scheduling and planning for timely task completion.
- Experience operating HV/LV electrical plants.
- Proficient with Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint and SharePoint.
- Knowledge of Nordex, Vestas, Senvion, Enercon, GE is a plus.
Education & Experience
Minimum 2-5 years in the renewables industry, with a background in Mechanical, Electrical or Civil construction. Project management skills and experience managing contractors and HSQE topics. Ability to be on site approximately 50% of the time.
