Site Head / Site Director – Sterile Pharmaceutical Manufacturing

Location: France

We are seeking an experienced Site Head / Site Director to lead a complex pharmaceutical manufacturing operation within a highly regulated GMP environment. This senior leadership role will have overall responsibility for site performance, operational excellence, quality compliance, people leadership, and strategic development. The successful candidate will lead a multidisciplinary organisation and ensure the reliable delivery of high-quality products for global healthcare partners.

Key Responsibilities

• Provide strategic and operational leadership for a GMP-regulated pharmaceutical manufacturing site.
• Lead manufacturing operations, ensuring safe, compliant, and efficient production performance.
• Drive continuous improvement initiatives focused on productivity, quality, reliability, and operational excellence.
• Develop and empower a strong site leadership team across Manufacturing, Quality, Engineering, Supply Chain, and Support functions.
• Ensure compliance with global pharmaceutical regulations and maintain inspection readiness.
• Oversee technology transfers, process improvements, equipment upgrades, and manufacturing expansion projects.
• Establish strong relationships with customers, internal stakeholders, and external partners.
• Manage site objectives, budgets, resources, and long‑term operational strategies.

Candidate Profile

• Proven leadership experience within sterile pharmaceutical manufacturing or a comparable GMP-regulated environment.
• Strong background in aseptic processing, sterile fill‑finish operations, and pharmaceutical production systems.
• Experience leading large multidisciplinary teams within a manufacturing organisation.
• Strong understanding of GMP, regulatory expectations, quality systems, and operational compliance.
• Experience with continuous improvement methodologies (Lean, Six Sigma, operational excellence).
• Demonstrated success managing complex manufacturing challenges, process improvements, and business‑critical projects.
• Strong communication, stakeholder management, and decision‑making skills.
• Fluent English required; French or other European languages an advantage.
