Site Engineer II
Responsibilities
The Data Center Engineer assists in maintaining the safe operation of electrical and mechanical systems across all data centers. This role supports the authorization and oversight of electrical works, ensuring compliance with Electrical Safety Rules and company standards. The engineer collaborates with staff to provide technical guidance, participate in safety permitting, and uphold operational safety. They are involved in audits, training, and cross‑functional teamwork to maintain high safety and compliance standards.
The engineer assists in the training and assessment of staff and contractors, participates in audits, and contributes to continuous improvement of safety practices. They work closely with cross‑functional teams to address operational challenges, resolve issues, and maintain a safe working environment. Effective communication, organizational skills, and a commitment to company values are required for success in this role.
Qualifications
- Bachelors degree in engineering (preferably BEng or BSc Hons), ideally electrical
- Recognised craft Apprenticeship or training scheme in electrical engineering
- AE training course completed
- AP (Authorised Person) training attended, with experience as HV or LV AP
- 2-4 Years experience in Building Services, Electrical, or Data Center industry
- Strong understanding of electrical safety and switching in critical environments
- Experience in oversight, assessment, and training, including audits and competence vetting of contractors
