Site Engineer

We deliver efficient, safe and sustainable integrated products and solutions to enhance the business of our customers. We are looking for a Shipyard Site engineer for our team in Saint Nazaire. The site engineer is responsible for executing operative activities related to commissioning according to the commissioning plan in close cooperation and under the supervision of the Site manager. Our projects mainly concern main engine, propulsion systems, environmental gas after treatment and gas integrated solutions.
The site engineer is a key figure in the practical execution of all commissioning activities, actively collaborating with counterparts at the construction site.
Responsibilities
- Execution of the assigned tasks related to the Commissioning responsibility matrix, including Sea Trials
- Planning, practical execution and solution activities through coordination of the internal organization of all non-conformities that may be found during commissioning
- Accompanying the acceptance of the commissioning of Wärtsilä machinery
- Maintain diligent activity reporting and technical reporting
Qualifications
- Technical background (BSc/MSc in Engineering or equivalent field experience in marine sector)
- 2-5 years\' experience in the marine new build sector and proven communication skills
- Strong team working skills
- French language at a good level
- Fluent in both spoken and written English
- Practical experience from yard or marine installations, especially engines and systems; technical knowledge of propulsion and power production systems onboard marine and/or offshore installations is an added merit
