Simulation Software Engineer

Job Description

Simulation Software Engineer – Location: Getafe. Role focuses on definition and implementation of complex simulation architectures for programs A400M, Eurodrone, and UAS.

This position is for a new department (TADVS4). You will work in an international environment requiring close coordination with internal colleagues, stakeholders, and external partner companies. The team uses Agile methodologies; an Agile mindset is mandatory.

This role requires an awareness of any potential compliance risks and a commitment to act with integrity.

Your Tasks

• Design architecture of software modules for new simulator functionalities.
• Develop simulation models representing aircraft equipment within the simulator.
• Implement software modules (mainly in C++).
• Create and perform unit tests of software modules (C++/Python).
• Create tools for improving development processes (e.g., code generators).
• Perform integration testing.
• Occasional travel abroad (mainly within the EU).

Required Skills & Experience

• Degree or Master’s degree in Software, Aeronautical, Telecommunication Engineering or a related discipline.
• Overall more than 10 years of experience as a Software Engineer or Architect.
• Hands‑on proven track record in simulation and software systems engineering.
• Project Management skills are beneficial.
• Experience in the aviation, simulation, and defence industry is beneficial.
• Excellent English at negotiation level.
• Excellent skills in software development.
