Private Chef Job Specification – South of France (Summer 2026)
Role: Private Chef
Location: Rural village in the South of France
Dates: From July 4th, 2026 – 6 weeks
Schedule: 6 days per week
Rate: £450–£550 per day (depending on experience)
Overview
We are seeking an experienced private chef for a relaxed but polished summer residency in a beautiful rural village in the South of France. The role is suited to someone confident cooking vibrant, seasonal Mediterranean-style food with an Ottolenghi-inspired approach.
The atmosphere is semi-formal, with a strong emphasis on generous sharing plates, colourful salads, and elegant but unfussy entertaining.
Requirements
- Strong background in private households, retreats, villas, or luxury hospitality
- Confident producing:
- Ability to work independently and manage provisioning
- Comfortable in a rural setting
- Must be able to drive
- Calm, organised, and discreet
- English speaking required; French beneficial but not essential
Service Style
- Maximum 10 guests
- Family-style lunch service
- Occasional canapés / aperitif-style food
- Semi-formal presentation and service style
- Seasonal, fresh, produce-led cooking preferred
