Position Summary

We are seeking a skilled and detail-oriented ServiceNow Engineer to join the CMDB & CSDM team within our Global ServiceNow Platform Team. Reporting directly to the CMDB & CSDM Team Leader, you will be a key execution resource responsible for the day-to-day configuration, maintenance, data quality management, and technical operations of the enterprise CMDB on the ServiceNow platform.

This is a hands‑on technical role. You will build and maintain CMDB integrations, configure Discovery and Service Mapping rules, manage CI lifecycle processes, troubleshoot data quality issues, and ensure the CMDB remains healthy and aligned with the Common Service Data Model (CSDM). You will work closely with the Team Leader to execute the CMDB roadmap and translate strategic direction into operational reality.

The ideal candidate is a self‑motivated problem solver who takes ownership of their work, thrives in a fast‑paced enterprise environment, and is passionate about data integrity and configuration management. You should be comfortable working independently on complex technical tasks while also collaborating effectively with cross‑functional teams across ITSM, ITOM, ITAM, and Security Operations.

Key Responsibilities

  • Configure and maintain ServiceNow CMDB CI classes, attributes, relationship types, and identification/reconciliation (IRE) rules under the direction of the Team Leader.
  • Execute CI lifecycle management processes, including creation, updates, attestation, retirement, and deletion of configuration items.
  • Manage and optimize CMDB Health dashboards, ensuring completeness, compliance, and correctness KPIs remain at or above established targets.
  • Implement and maintain data quality rules, duplicate detection logic, and data normalization processes to ensure CI data integrity.
  • Build and maintain CMDB data integrations using import sets, transformation maps, Service Graph Connectors, IntegrationHub, and REST/SOAP APIs.
  • Configure and troubleshoot MID Servers supporting Discovery, Service Mapping, and external data source connections.
  • Develop and maintain data transformation scripts, field mapping rules, and coalesce logic for third‑party data source ingestion into the CMDB.
  • Configure and maintain ServiceNow Discovery schedules, probes, sensors, and classification rules to ensure accurate and comprehensive infrastructure CI population.
  • Support Service Mapping pattern development and maintenance, working with application teams to map service dependencies and validate application topologies.
  • Support the Team Leader in executing CSDM maturity initiatives, populating CSDM entities (Business Applications, Application Services, Technical Services, Service Offerings) with accurate data.
  • Maintain relationships between CSDM entities and underlying infrastructure CIs, ensuring the service model accurately reflects the production environment.
  • Build and maintain CMDB reports, dashboards, and Performance Analytics widgets that surface data quality metrics, coverage statistics, and governance compliance to stakeholders.

Required Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Information Systems, or a related field.
  • ServiceNow Certified System Administrator (CSA) certification. Demonstrating foundational platform administration knowledge.
  • 4+ years of experience in IT Service Management, Configuration Management, IT Operations, or a related discipline.
  • 3+ years of hands‑on experience with the ServiceNow platform, with demonstrated focus on CMDB modules.
  • 2+ years of experience working with ServiceNow Discovery, Service Mapping, or CMDB data integrations.
  • Experience with CSDM concepts and data modeling within ServiceNow (exposure through implementation projects or operational support).
  • Experience in an enterprise environment managing CMDB data across multiple CI classes and data sources.
  • Strong working knowledge of ServiceNow CMDB architecture, CI classes, relationship types, and identification/reconciliation engine (IRE).
  • Hands‑on experience with ServiceNow Discovery configuration (schedules, probes, sensors, classification, credentials) and Service Mapping patterns.
  • Proficiency in ServiceNow data integration methods: import sets, transformation maps, REST/SOAP APIs, Service Graph Connectors, and IntegrationHub.
