Position Overview

Service Operations Manager – EU will lead, direct and coordinate all daily operations for the France (Arras) service center. They are responsible for delivering results through achieving on‑time delivery of high-quality instruments that meet customer expectations, achieving the monthly financial budget, and driving continuous improvement through the site. This person will guide the Service team (Depot, Fulfillment, and Logistics) in their support of internal and external customer requirements and is responsible for meeting or exceeding all service center KPIs including safety, quality, delivery, inventory, and cost.

Responsibilities and Deliverables

  • Perform all site leadership responsibilities and continuously improve the operational systems, processes, and policies in support of our mission and corporate objectives.
  • Lead and drive the service center teams through daily management to continuously meet key performance targets aligned with company core value drives.
  • Drive standard work, one‑piece flow, and support FBS (Fortive Business System) lean manufacturing initiatives.
  • Ensure product quality through use of FBS, standardized processes, 5S, Virtual Daily Management and Problem‑Solving Process. Track product quality through metrics such as First Pass Yield and line discrepancy data and prioritize improvement initiatives.
  • Actively perform hands‑on technical work, including diagnosis, repair, testing, calibration, or commissioning of instruments and equipment as required by workload.
  • Directly support and execute daily service processes, including work order handling, prioritization, and resolution of complex or escalated technical cases.
  • Act as the technical escalation point for the service center, providing expert‑level guidance and practical support to the service team.
  • Ensure all technical work is completed in compliance with approved work instructions, quality standards, safety rules, and regulatory requirements.
  • Actively support EHS programs and ensure full compliance with French labor law, local safety regulations, and applicable EU requirements.
  • Develop and empower the leadership team to manage the daily operations; cultivate and expand a highly skilled staff and improve core competencies.
  • Administer performance management processes across area of responsibility for effectiveness, timeliness, and expected outcomes in focusing, aligning and engaging employees in the pursuit of the overall business strategies and goals. Reconcile time and attendance program daily. Approve time off.
  • Manage time and attendance processes, including daily reconciliation and approval of employee leave, in accordance with local requirements.
  • Ensure all processes meet or exceed ISO quality system requirements as well as all domestic and international regulatory requirements related to product assembly, service activities, and material handling.
  • Oversee facility installation, maintenance, tooling readiness, and overall operational condition of the Arras site.

Qualifications (Required)

  • Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Operations Management, Business, or Logistics.
  • 5+ years of supervisory experience in service, manufacturing, or operational environments, or equivalent technical experience with demonstrated positive results in operational change management.
  • Demonstrated hands‑on technical experience in equipment repair, maintenance, calibration, or service operations within an industrial or service‑center environment.
  • Proven ability to balance people leadership and direct technical contribution in daily operations.
  • Demonstrated experience leading operational improvements through collaboration and teamwork.
  • Strong organizational, interpersonal, and communication skills, with a clear commitment to quality‑focused decision making.
  • Demonstrated ability to develop and empower others to achieve personal and team objectives.
  • Solid understanding of business financials, forecasting, and cost containment.
  • Ability to work independently and manage daily, weekly, and monthly operational priorities.
  • High proficiency with M365.
  • Strong experience with Lean tools and methodologies.
  • Individual must be legally authorized to live and work in France.
