Service Operations manager
Lead Operational Excellence in a Global Technology Environment
We are seeking an experienced Service Operations Manager to lead the day-to-day operations of a busy service centre in Arras, France. This is an exciting opportunity to join a global industrial technology organisation where you'll play a key role in driving operational performance, leading high-performing teams, and delivering exceptional service to customers.
This role combines operational leadership with hands‑on technical involvement, making it ideal for someone who enjoys both strategic management and solving complex technical challenges.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead and oversee the daily operations of the service centre, ensuring excellence in safety, quality, delivery, inventory, and cost performance.
- Manage and develop cross‑functional teams across Service, Logistics, and Fulfilment.
- Drive continuous improvement initiatives using Lean methodologies and standardised operational processes.
- Support technical operations through hands‑on diagnosis, repair, calibration, testing, and commissioning of equipment when required.
- Act as the technical escalation point for complex customer and operational issues.
- Ensure compliance with ISO quality standards, health and safety regulations, and French labour legislation.
- Monitor operational KPIs and implement improvement plans to achieve business objectives.
- Manage workforce planning, performance management, attendance, and employee development.
- Oversee facility maintenance, tooling readiness, and the overall operational condition of the site.
- Collaborate with cross‑functional stakeholders to continuously improve customer satisfaction and operational efficiency.
What We're Looking For
- Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Operations Management, Business, Logistics, or a related field.
- Minimum 5 years' experience leading teams within a service, manufacturing, or operational environment.
- Strong hands‑on technical experience in equipment repair, maintenance, calibration, or industrial service operations.
- Proven experience managing operational performance and driving continuous improvement initiatives.
- Strong understanding of Lean principles and operational excellence methodologies.
- Excellent leadership, communication, and organisational skills.
- Experience managing budgets, forecasting, and operational costs.
- High proficiency with Microsoft 365.
- Must be legally authorised to live and work in France.
