For more than 25 years, our Center of Excellence in Illkirch, near Strasbourg , has been a cornerstone of the Ortho experience. From this strategic location, our teams support customers across Europe, the Middle East, and Africa , helping healthcare professionals deliver faster, more reliable diagnostic results that improve patient care.

Your Impact As a Service Engineer
As a Service Engineer – Automation & Informatics , you will be at the heart of our customer support mission. You will combine technical expertise, problem-solving skills, and customer focus to keep critical diagnostic systems running and help laboratories deliver life-changing results.
Your Responsibilities Will Include
- Provide advanced second-level technical support to internal Technical Solutions Center teams, QuidelOrtho Field Service Engineers, Field Application Specialists, and distributors to troubleshoot complex automation and informatics challenges.
- Deliver remote expert assistance to hospitals and laboratories, including remote system access when required.
- Diagnose and resolve issues related to:
- Middleware solutions
- Network connectivity
- Automation tracks and mechanical systems
- Use advanced troubleshooting methods and data analysis to identify root causes and implement effective solutions.
- Collaborate with customers and internal teams across EMEA to ensure fast and sustainable resolution of technical issues.
- Lead the escalation process for critical technical cases (“red alerts”) requiring additional expertise or on-site intervention.
- Deliver advanced automation and informatics training to internal teams and customers.
- Ensure compliance with cGMP, QSR, ISO, Qualiopi, and site-specific quality requirements.
- Contribute to continuous improvement by identifying knowledge gaps and enhancing technical documentation and knowledge databases.
What You Bring
- You are a curious, solution-oriented professional who enjoys technology, teamwork, and making a real difference.
You Have
- A Bachelor’s degree or higher in Automation, Robotics, Chemistry, Biology, Science, Engineering, Biomedical Engineering, Medical Laboratory Technology, or a related field.
- Experience with laboratory systems, middleware solutions, or automation platforms.
- Strong analytical thinking and troubleshooting capabilities.
- Excellent communication skills and the ability to stay effective in complex, time-sensitive situations.
- Knowledge of computer networking is an advantage.
- Fluency in English is required; additional European languages are highly valued.
