This is truly an exciting time to join us!

As we continue our journey towards becoming the world's leading safety technology company, we are looking for a Service Engineer to join our team in Toulon.

The Role

Reporting to the Service Manager, you will be responsible for the installation, commissioning, inspection, maintenance, and troubleshooting of marine safety and security systems, primarily onboard commercial vessels.

This is a highly practical and varied position, combining technical work in the office with hands-on work onboard vessels.

Approximately 20% of your time will be office-based, supporting technical activities, while 80% will involve travel and working onboard vessels in France and internationally.

You will work closely with customers, manufacturers, subcontractors, and colleagues across our international network, making this an excellent opportunity for someone who enjoys both technical challenges and a dynamic maritime environment.

Key Responsibilities

  • Install, inspect, maintain, commission, and troubleshoot marine fire detection systems.
  • Work with gas detection systems and VDR (Voyage Data Recorder) systems.
  • Carry out electrical and electronic testing, fault-finding, and repair.
  • Perform technical work primarily onboard commercial vessels.
  • Support activities within the ship repair and maritime industries.
  • Adapt to the operational requirements and working conditions of the maritime environment.
  • Liaise with customers, manufacturers, subcontractors, and technicians across our international service network.
  • Prepare for and participate in technical training provided by our organization and our international head office, in English.
  • Represent Consilium professionally when working directly with customers and vessel crews.

What We're Looking For

Education & Experience

  • Technical degree, BTS or equivalent in Electronics.
  • Previous experience with safety, security, navigation, or marine systems is an advantage.
  • Experience working in the maritime environment would be a strong plus.
  • A hands-on approach and the ability to diagnose and solve technical problems independently.

Languages

  • English: good working knowledge and the confidence to communicate in a technical environment. English is used for technical training and communication with our international head office.

Other Requirements

  • Valid Category B driving licence is mandatory.
  • Willingness and availability to travel extensively in France and internationally.
  • Flexibility to work according to the operational requirements of the maritime industry.
  • Ability to work independently while also contributing effectively as part of an international team.
  • Customer-focused, practical, reliable, and solution-oriented approach.

What We Offer

  • A permanent, full-time position based in Toulon.
  • A varied role combining technical expertise, travel, and hands-on work onboard commercial vessels.
  • The opportunity to work with advanced marine safety, security, and navigation technologies.
  • Comprehensive internal and international technical training.
  • The opportunity to develop your expertise within a global organization.
  • An international working environment where initiative, responsibility, and teamwork are genuinely valued.
  • A supportive, family-oriented culture where people are encouraged to grow and make a difference.
