An exciting opportunity to join our client's team at a fast-growing digital product engineering company with a global presence and a diverse team of experts. The company focuses on creating innovative products and services that inspire and engage users. We are looking for a Semantics Adoption Product Manager to join this organization.
Responsibilities
- Train platform architects and engineers on semanticmodeling fundamentals OWL/RDF/S standards, graph database operation, ontology design patterns, and common pitfalls
- Guide the engineering team on the correct implementation of the ontology management service ensuring technical decisions serve business intent
- Establish EcoStruxure Platform's semantic standards: naming conventions, annotation requirements, foundational ontology alignment patterns, and shared vocabularies
- Work directly with each LoB's Subject Matter Experts and Data Modelers to author their first canonical domain models
- Conduct structured working sessions where Subject Matter Experts articulate their domain knowledge and a Data Modeler translates it into formal model design decisions
- Develop reusable guidance materials: modeling guides, worked examples from real business domains, and decision frameworks
- Articulate the concrete business value of the semantic layer to business stakeholders
- Demonstrate tangible outcomes and address skepticism honestly
- Act as the expert reviewer in the publication gate during the initial platform increments
- Define 'what good looks like' for canonical domain models in the platform and identify modeling anti-patterns early
Requirements
- Hands‑on ontology development in industrial or enterprise settings
- Fluent in OWL, RDF/S, SKOS, SPARQL with practical experience
- Experience operating open‑standards graph databases including configuration, data loading, querying, and performance considerations
- Demonstrated ability to translate complex domain knowledge from subject‑matter experts into formal semantic models
- Experience introducing semantic technologies to teams with evidence of successful adoption
- Ability to explain semantic modeling concepts to non‑technical audiences
- Comfortable working in environments where the technology is new to everyone
- Strong opinions on modeling quality, balanced with pragmatism
- Strong written communication skills to produce clear guidance documents
- Effective oral communication, avoiding technical jargon, and working in multi‑cultural environments
