Overview
Within Airbus Commercial Aircraft, digital security topics are managed by our Corporate Digital Security office, a trans‑national organisation based in France, UK, Germany and Spain, with a direct link to our global infrastructure and sites. The Evaluation & Test department is responsible for providing advanced capabilities in discovering, reporting and remediating security vulnerabilities found in both the security technologies consumed/purchased and the systems operated or developed by Airbus. The team evaluates the security of products and services by simulating the behavior of motivated and highly technical attackers, contributes to the state of the art by developing tools or methodologies, and provides technical expertise on security topics across a broad range of domains including IT, OT/ICS and product security.
Key Responsibilities
- Develop the use of security automation across the group: identify systems where automation should be introduced, propose technical solutions, and review their implementation.
- Conduct deep‑dive security evaluations of products and services.
- Write evaluation reports for the products, services, and technologies evaluated.
- Develop tools, both short‑ and long‑term, to enable the team to be more efficient and to automate security tests.
- Publish open‑source tools.
- Attend technical security conferences and publish articles in your areas of expertise.
- Travel for business within Europe and worldwide as required.
Qualifications
- Master’s degree in Computer Science, IT, Engineering, or equivalent with a minimum of 5 years of professional experience in security automation or deep‑dive security evaluation.
- Experience working on the security of cloud‑based systems.
- Designing and implementing automated security measures in at least one of these domains: automated cloud security, automated application security, automated security evaluation.
- Strong experience in vulnerability research and exploitation.
- Strong scripting and programming capabilities.
- Containerisation and/or virtualization experience.
- Program verification and fuzzing experience.
- Experience with Linux environments.
- Curiosity and openness to new subjects.
- Strong team spirit.
- Good communication skills and ability to explain technical subjects.
- Negotiation level of English.
