Secondary Packaging Purchasing Manager H/F

Mission

Following the company Purchasing Strategies and Global Policy for Suppliers, you will be responsible for leading a team of buyers that purchases the Secondary Packaging Components for Puig brands Paco Rabanne, Jean-Paul Gaultier, Nina Ricci, Comme des Garçons, Dries Van Noten and Christian Louboutin Beauty (fragrances). It covers an extensive range of materials categories into Secondary Packaging: Cardboard, Pulp & Paper, Metal, Plastic etc.

You will work closely with internal teams and suppliers, seeking for innovation, agility and competitive costs. This role requires rigor, leadership and autonomy to provide a vision to your team. You will also need a flexible and creative mindset to partner with the Marketing team. You will be able to rely on your pair with the Secondary Packaging Development Manager for the technical specifications.

Functions and Responsibilities

Management

  • You will lead a buyer’s team in France, composed of 4 FTE. We expect you to bring your technical expertise to your teams and develop your projects with a focus on Sustainability and Innovation.
  • You will manage its development, evaluating its performance, taking part in recruitment processes when needed and watching over their learning and improvement.
  • You will organize and distribute projects and brands among team members balancing workload and searching effectiveness.
  • You will report to Purchasing Direction about problems, achievements and findings related to the projects and the area of responsibility.
  • You have to actively contribute within the Purchasing Department in the search of excellence and to cooperate with other departments in the achievement of objectives of the company.

Projects Execution

Your team will be in charge of following the IP Purchasing Process in terms of R&D, Quality, Suppliers, and specially in:

  • Supporting the team in quotation and negotiation of new products and investments always with a total cost of ownership mindset.
  • Ensuring correct new product execution by anticipating potential risks in development and looking for solutions with internal and external contributors.
  • Preparing and attending different meetings related to New Product Development with areas such as Packaging Development, CNP, Demand and Supply Planning, Quality, Manufacturing, or Purchasing itself.
  • Reviewing the Purchasing KPI's and Reports to prevent annual costs increases and purchasing inefficacies practices.
  • Working with the Purchasing Direction in preparing annual price negotiations, for existing products, as well as in working in the budgeting process for OPEX and Materials Standard Costs.

Category management

With the guidance of the Purchasing Director, you will assume responsibilities of category management. As an expert of suppliers, products and markets, you will implement the Category Strategy, while following the latest trends and seeking Innovation and Sustainability (carbon emissions reduction). You will be in charge of designing the strategy and improving the processes.

Reporting

Direct report to the Purchasing Director for Secondary Packaging.

Requirements

  • Experience: 10/15 years of experience in Purchasing, including significant experience in Management.
  • Education: Master degree, with a specialization in Purchasing.
  • Languages: Fluent in English and French. Spanish would be a plus.
  • Competencies: Integrity and Trust, Peer Relationship, Leadership, Persuasion, Communication, Creativity, Learning Agility, Managing Diversity, Problem Solver, Business Curiosity.
  • Specific Knowledge required: Excellent Negotiation Skills, Deep Knowledge of Materials Technology, Finance for Non-Finance, Special Sensitivity for Fragrances, Cosmetics and Fashion trends.
