Scientific Business Development Manager – Quantum MachinesLocation: Western Europe (France)Full-time

Join Quantum Machines, the global leader in control systems for quantum computing, to drive end-to-end sales of our solutions. You will own a significant customer cohort in Western Europe, turning leads into long‑lasting relationships and delivering our vision and value proposition to academic and commercial sectors.

Responsibilities

  • Meet and exceed annual booking targets and develop large, existing, strategic accounts while discovering new prospect accounts.
  • Manage the entire sales cycle from initial lead to deal closing to repeat purchasing.
  • Create detailed business plans to facilitate the attainment of goals and quotas.
  • Communicate the value proposition to potential customers in the academic and commercial sectors.
  • Uncover customer needs and ensure we provide the necessary products, tools and technical resources.
  • Coordinate with internal teams on complex tenders, bids, and agreements.
  • Leverage go‑to‑market resources (solution engineers, marketing, professional materials, evaluation program, etc.) to maximize customer satisfaction and repeat business.
  • Maintain an accurate and up‑to‑date view of all leads and opportunities; provide reports as needed.

Requirements

  • 10+ years proven experience as a growth‑oriented salesperson with emphasis on new business expansion; hardware sales experience and a background in academia and research labs is a strong advantage.
  • Excellent oral and written communication in English and strong presentation skills.
  • Knowledge and experience in market research, sales cycle management, and negotiations.
  • Ability to build relationships of trust.
  • Organizational and time‑management skills; high level of independence.
  • Strong knowledge of MS Office; experience with CRM software (e.g., Salesforce).
  • Background in physics and/or electrical engineering, understanding of quantum computing.
  • Willingness to travel to customers and prospects regularly.
