Satellite & Spectrum Regulatory Specialist

A fast-growing satellite communications company developing a next-generation space system is seeking a Satellite & Spectrum Regulatory professional to lead the technical strategy that enables and protects access to radio frequency spectrum and satellite orbits worldwide.
This role sits at the intersection of advanced satellite engineering and international regulation, offering direct influence over global spectrum access and system deployment.
What You’ll Do
- Lead and execute technical spectrum and orbital coordination strategies through ITU processes and national/regional authorisation procedures
- Analyse and mitigate the risk of harmful interference between satellite networks and terrestrial systems
- Define, execute, and defend sharing and co-existence studies at the ITU, in regional forums, and directly with administrations and operators
- Prepare, manage, and defend ITU satellite network filings , ensuring compliance with Radio Regulations and critical deadlines
- Review third-party filings and preserve regulatory rights through comments and procedural actions
- Provide technical leadership and support for:
- ITU network and operational coordination meetings
- National licensing, authorisation, and consultation processes
- Work closely with internal engineering teams and regional market-access stakeholders to align regulatory strategy with system design
What You Bring
- Master’s degree (or equivalent experience) in Electrical Engineering, Telecommunications, Aerospace , or a related discipline
- Proven experience analysing harmful interference between satellite systems, with strong knowledge of NGSO systems and orbital mechanics
- Deep familiarity with ITU Radio Regulations, Rules of Procedure, and ITU-R Recommendations
- Hands-on experience using MATLAB, Python , or similar tools for simulation and regulatory co-existence studies
- Experience preparing, managing, and coordinating ITU satellite network filings
- Experience supporting national licensing activities and regulatory consultations
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills, including defending technical positions with regulators and industry peers
