Satellite Architect

iO Associates are currently partnered with a leading organisation within the space and satellite sector, supporting the search for a Satellite Architect to join their growing engineering function based in Toulouse. This is an exciting opportunity to work on cutting‑edge space programmes across Earth observation and telecommunications, contributing to complex and high-impact missions.

Contract Type: Permanent

Key responsibilities

• Acting as Technical Lead / Satellite Manager across assigned programmes
• Designing and developing end-to-end satellite system architectures aligned to technical and programme requirements
• Working closely with multidisciplinary engineering teams to deliver robust, integrated solutions
• Coordinating internal teams and external stakeholders including partners, suppliers and clients
• Leading the technical integration and ensuring alignment across all contributing functions
• Acting as the primary interface with customers and partners, translating requirements into deliverable solutions
• Managing trade-offs between performance, cost and schedule constraints
• Supporting project management activities including planning, cost tracking and delivery milestones

What You Bring

• 10+ years experience in satellite systems or subsystem development
• Strong background across at least two subsystem domains (e.g. avionics, AOCS/GNC, or similar)
• Proven experience in system-level architecture and technical leadership
• Strong stakeholder engagement and communication skills
• Ability to work collaboratively across multidisciplinary teams and external partners
• Proficient in English (written and spoken)
