About the Role
We are seeking an experienced Sales Systems Engineer to join a leading global provider of network infrastructure solutions serving telecom, enterprise, cloud, and hyperscale data center markets.
This is a highly visible pre-sales engineering position that combines technical expertise, customer engagement, solution design, and partner enablement. Working closely with sales teams, customers, consultants, contractors, and installation partners, you will act as the technical authority for structured cabling and data center infrastructure solutions throughout the sales cycle.
The successful candidate will have deep expertise in data center structured cabling environments and be comfortable presenting solutions, delivering technical demonstrations, conducting customer workshops, and supporting complex infrastructure projects.
Key Responsibilities
- Provide pre-sales technical support to customers, consultants, channel partners, and internal sales teams.
- Design and recommend structured cabling solutions for data center, cloud, colocation, and enterprise environments.
- Deliver technical presentations, product demonstrations, workshops, and solution briefings.
- Support solution architecture discussions and respond to technical customer requirements.
- Act as the technical liaison between customers, manufacturing, engineering, and product management teams.
- Assist with bid responses, RFIs, RFPs, and technical proposals.
- Train installation partners, integrators, consultants, and end users on structured cabling products and best practices.
- Support product launches and provide market feedback to internal stakeholders.
- Participate in industry events, customer meetings, and technical seminars.
- Travel nationally and internationally as required (up to 30%).
Required Experience
- 7+ years of hands-on experience designing and implementing structured cabling systems within mid-to-large-scale data centers.
- Strong understanding of data center architecture and functional areas including:
- Main Distribution Area (MDA)
- Horizontal Distribution Area (HDA)
- Equipment Distribution Area (EDA)
- Zone Distribution Area (ZDA)
- Entrance Facility (EF)
- Experience supporting hyperscale, enterprise, colocation, cloud, or multi-tenant data center environments.
- Proven customer-facing experience in a Pre-Sales Engineer, Systems Engineer, Solutions Engineer, Technical Consultant, or Sales Engineering role.
- Ability to deliver technical presentations and communicate complex infrastructure solutions to both technical and non-technical audiences.
- Experience collaborating with sales, engineering, manufacturing, consultants, and installation partners.
- Strong problem-solving and technical troubleshooting skills.
Preferred Qualifications
- BICSI RCDD certification.
- BICSI DCDC certification.
- Knowledge of data center standards and best practices.
- Experience with fiber optic and copper structured cabling systems.
- Understanding of network infrastructure, connectivity solutions, and data center physical layer technologies.
