You have the gift of gab, can read the room, exude confidence naturally. Generating revenue and closing a deal excites you. You like learning about and seeing others create with audio, light and video devices. You have an attention to detail and like to collaborate with a team to make projects not only succeed, but shine. You have worked in startups and understand the phases and transitions that happen with growth and do not shy away from the challenges and are excited about the benefits to come.
Summary
Sales Manager is responsible for acquiring, developing and managing clients as well as maintaining and improving the financial growth of Media Pollution.
Pre‑Requisite Understanding
Media Pollution does not focus more than 5‑10% of our attention on cold sales leads. Most of our sales revolve around existing customers and relationships, mainly warm leads. The vast majority of your time will be spent maintaining existing customer relationships and fielding the requests that come up as part of the day‑to‑day expectations. However we do not shy away from you bringing in new client relationships.
Responsibilities
- Customer and Project Management (50%): Overseeing pre‑to‑post‑sales support activities for all projects while guaranteeing the greatest level of client satisfaction.
- Collaborate with project managers to field initial inquiries and generate estimates/proposals.
- Ensure brand image and professionalism is consistent in all forms of communication.
- Ensure closed deals have all relevant data collected and properly communicated to the operations teams.
- Manage relevant client and company files/dashboards.
- Respond to emails and inquiries within 1‑4 hours of receiving requests.
- Accounting/Financial (30%): Quote projects and review budgets.
- Be a rockstar with spreadsheets/dashboards.
- Establish and adjust sales prices by reviewing costs, competitors, and supply and demand indicators.
- Work with the CEO and partners to reach weekly, monthly, quarterly and yearly financial goals.
- Review project expense reports with partners.
- Management and Development (10%): Become an integral part of Media Pollution's management team and culture.
- Provide feedback on and improve the sales process.
- Hire and fire sales associates as needed.
- Develop and mentor team members' sales acumen.
- Assign team members' duties and follow up on results.
- Special Projects/Personal Development (10%): Part of everyone's schedule should be used for personal development.
- On an as needed basis, to be discussed weekly, quarterly or yearly.
- Encourage sharing business‑applicable passion projects you may have as part of the discussion.
Skills And Qualifications
- Conversationalist with the ability to convert technical and artistic language into layman's terms.
- 5+ years of experience in a sales leadership role.
- Ability to generate and analyze sales and marketing data.
- Patience and gratitude for the startup culture.
- Ability to problem‑solve, multitask, and wear multiple hats in a fast‑paced startup environment.
- Fluent knowledge of software and platforms including Slack, Apple or Windows, Google Suite, Microsoft, QuickBooks.
- Working knowledge of Adobe, Instagram, YouTube, Tik Tok, Facebook, Website.
- A history of working with/using technology.
- Valid driver’s license and current automobile insurance.
- Ability to drive a car (reimbursement included).
- Ability to travel nationally and internationally as needed.
- Must be willing to work nights and weekends when client satisfaction requires it.
- Excellent math, written and verbal communication skills.
- Professional, kind, patient attitude toward clients and staff.
- Willingness to learn and grow.
- Ability to make decisions even when all details are not available.
General Information
- Full‑time position.
