Overview

Do you want to lead the commercial strategy behind some of the world's most recognised entertainment and technology events and play a key role in shaping their next chapter of growth?

Our client is one of the global leaders in business events and media, bringing together the world's largest entertainment, technology, and business communities through flagship international conferences and trade shows.

For decades, these events have been the meeting place for decision-makers across television, film, media, technology, AI, and data. They influence industries, create partnerships, and drive business on a global scale.

Why now: Following a recent organisational transformation, the business is investing heavily in the future of both its Entertainment and Big Data & AI divisions. The foundations are strong, the brands are globally recognised, and the commercial teams are experienced and successful.

What they need now is leadership: someone who can bring structure, alignment, and strategic direction while preserving the entrepreneurial culture that has made these events successful. Someone who can help revitalise flagship brands, identify new growth opportunities, and ensure these market-leading events remain at the centre of their industries for years to come.

The Role

As Commercial Event Director, you will lead the commercial strategy across both the Entertainment and Big Data & AI portfolios, overseeing multiple flagship events and managing a team of senior commercial leaders.

You will act as the commercial architect and ambassador for the portfolio, supporting strategic client relationships, driving growth initiatives, leading organisational change, and ensuring commercial teams are aligned around a clear vision and strategy. You will manage Sales Directors for the individual events while partnering closely with Marketing, Operations, and Executive Leadership. Externally, you\'ll represent the events at industry gatherings, client meetings, and strategic networking opportunities.

Why Join

Following a major organisational transformation, two distinct business units are available with the opportunity to influence the future direction of globally recognised event brands. This is a high-visibility role with direct access to executive leadership and the CEO, offering significant autonomy to shape commercial strategy and organisational structure. You will join experienced and commercially successful teams across international markets in entertainment, media, AI, and technology. The role blends strategic leadership with commercial transformation and market-facing influence, providing the chance to leave a visible mark on some of the industry\'s most recognised events.
