Role Overview:
Are you passionate about building relationships and driving business growth with global strategic clients? As a Sales Associate at S&P Dow Jones Indices, you’ll play a vital role in supporting the full sales cycle, managing interactions with clients, and identifying new opportunities. You will collaborate with cross-functional teams to deliver exceptional service, enhance the sales process, and contribute to the overall sales strategy.
Key Responsibilities & Attributes:
A successful candidate will support our Client Coverage colleagues throughout the life cycle of a sale and support the ongoing maintenance and expansion of the relationship with our clients, focusing particular on local support for our Paris office. This includes:
- Partnering with our Sales and Client Services team to drive customer satisfaction and adoption within existing accounts by providing proactive support and resolving inquiries promptly. You will respond to and process inquiries via Salesforce, including (but not limited to):
- New licensing and license checks
- Client billing & reporting
- Client renewals and usage statistics
- Existing client maintenance and day-to-day user care
- Sales Process Support:
- Collaborate with the Client Coverage Team to provide comprehensive support in the management of sales deals - including Data, IP, and Custom opportunities - overseeing agreement drafting and negotiation with internal and external legal teams.
- Maintain accurate and up-to-date records of leads and client interactions in CRM systems, ensuring data integrity for analysis and reporting.
- Account Management:
- Support the cultivation and maintenance of positive client relationships by assisting as a key point of contact, helping to understand client needs and manage expectations under the guidance of Client Coverage team members.
- Assist in day-to-day management of the regional client portfolio, helping to address enquiries and resolve straightforward issues promptly to ensure customer satisfaction and support long-term retention.
- Contribute to aligning solutions to client requirements by participating in presale meetings alongside Client Coverage, ensuring that service offerings are clearly communicated and meet client needs.
- Collaboration:
- Work closely with internal teams such as Finance, Product Management, Data Product Management, Client Coverage, Client Services, Pricing Governance, and Legal to ensure seamless sales operations and coordinated strategies.
- Hold weekly meetings with Client Coverage to provide relevant statistics, KPIs, and updates on key regional/global initiatives.
- Lead Identification & Sales Strategy:
- Identify and qualify potential leads through research and outreach, contributing to a robust pipeline of opportunities.
- Proactively identify opportunities for upselling and cross-selling within existing accounts.

Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in Business, Finance, Economics, Marketing, or a related field.
- Minimum of 2+ years of relevant experience, with a focus on client service, managing sales support processes and client relationships.
- Demonstrated ability to achieve targets and meet performance metrics.
- Strong analytical, communication, and interpersonal skills.
- Proficiency in CRM software (Salesforce preferred) and Microsoft Office Suite.
