About The Role
We are seeking a Sales and Marketing Director to drive growth, expand our reach, and ensure our tours are consistently filled with engaged participants. The ideal candidate is deeply familiar with ecovillages and intentional communities and can confidently guide potential travelers through every stage of their onboarding journey—from discovering our organization to selecting the right tour and completing the booking process.
This role requires a strategic thinker with expertise in digital marketing, sales, and community‑building. The right person will be passionate about our mission, savvy with social media, skilled in sales conversion, and possess a keen eye for compelling visual content.
Position Details
- Job Type: Part‑time contractor (with potential to grow based on performance)
- Time Commitment: Starting at 40 hours per month
- Compensation: $30–$40 per hour (depending on experience)
- Location: Remote with flexible hours (must be in a timezone compatible with 9 AM–5 PM ET)

Key Responsibilities
Marketing & Brand Strategy
- Develop and execute marketing strategies aligned with the company’s vision.
- Oversee all marketing activities, collaborating closely with the CEO, team members, and tour guides.
- Design and implement targeted digital campaigns to boost brand awareness and sales.
- Collaborate with external consultants for SEO and Google Ads management.
- Track and analyze marketing performance metrics, adjusting strategies accordingly.
Content Creation & Engagement
- Develop a content plan for social media, newsletters, blogs, and webinars.
- Draft and schedule social posts, newsletters, and web content in alignment with brand guidelines.
- Organize and curate tour footage and photos for marketing use.
- Oversee media documentation from staff, volunteers, and participants.
- Manage the development of promotional videos for each tour.
- Utilize AI tools for efficient and high‑quality content creation.
Sales & Lead Conversion
- Serve as the main point of contact for inquiries, responding via email, website chat, and phone.
- Manage the company phone line, returning calls within 9 AM–5 PM ET.
- Assist customers with bookings and discounts (WeTravel booking software).
- Optimize and oversee email marketing funnels to nurture leads.
Affiliate Management
- Recruit, onboard, and manage affiliates to expand marketing reach.
- Build and maintain relationships with influencers and brand partners.
- Provide ongoing support and promotional materials for affiliates and partners.
Online Presence
- Make website updates and draft new pages as needed (SquareSpace).
- Manage and optimize the website chatbot for handling inquiries.
- Monitor and improve the user experience on the website.
Team Management
- Recruit and manage supporting staff, interns, and volunteers as needed.
- Provide oversight and support to freelance designers, editors, and other collaborators.
Qualifications
- Proven experience in sales, marketing, and digital strategy.
- Strong understanding of SEO, email campaigns, and social media (including Meta and YouTube).
- Expertise in graphic design, photo and video editing, with excellent visual acumen (Canva).
- Experience working with affiliate and influencer partnerships.
- Ability to convert leads into sales through compelling communication.
- Strong American English copywriting for newsletters, website, and promo materials.
- Ability to analyze marketing performance metrics and optimize strategies.
- Knowledge of ecovillages and intentional communities, preferably with firsthand experience.
