SAFETY MANAGEMENT SYSTEM AND QUALITY (H/F)

Mission

Develop and implement the Safety Management System (SMS) and Quality Management System (QMS) for FLYING WHALES Services, a future operator of the LCA60T airship and pilot training school.

Responsibilities

• Implement the SMS, associated documentation, and obtain ATO and AOC.
• Participate in risk analysis activities (bow‑tie analyses) for operational security scenarios (SORA), ensuring deployment of identified operational barriers.
• Implement the FWS quality management system and associated documentation.
• Implement processes and process cards to define and monitor relevant KPIs.
• Conduct internal audits and monitor action plans.
• Participate in quality management reviews.

Education & Experience

• Minimum 3 years of experience in a similar safety or quality engineering role.
• Engineering diploma or equivalent in aeronautics; a master’s degree in quality or airworthiness is preferred.
• Experience dealing with Civil Aviation Authorities is a plus.
• Knowledge of flight operations (CAT, SPO, etc.) is strongly recommended.

Skills

• Proficiency with bow‑tie analysis.
• Knowledge of EASA AirOps regulations and EN 9100.
• Understanding of airship operational specifics.
• Negotiation skills with authorities on complex subjects.
• Document, report, and compliance item preparation for authorities.
• Audit experience.
• Experience in the aeronautical safety environment (SMS).
