Created in 2009, ESSP is a young and dynamic company, a pan-European service provider, certified by EASA (the European Union Aviation Safety Agency) to deliver safety-critical services. Our mission is to operate and provide Communication, Navigation and Surveillance (CNS) services, among which the main one is the EGNOS service (the European Geostationary Navigation Overlay Service), on behalf of the EUSPA (the European Union Agency for the Space Programme).

We are looking for a Safety Engineer who will be contributing to safety activities related to the different “Safety of Life” (SoL) services delivered by ESSP.

For these activities, we are looking for an engineer (or equivalent degree) with1 to 3 years’ experience in Dependability/Safety on space or aeronautical domain , with a very good level of English (minimum B2).

Your main responsibilities/activities will be:

Safety activities performed by Safety team in the frame of Navigation Service based on EGNOS:

  • Performance of different kind of Safety analyses (Human error impact analysis, preliminary hazard analysis, FMECA analysis etc.) and related safety recommendation management: upon Operational and Maintenance procedures, specific operations, monitoring tools, ESSP Safety Management System (SMS) processes.
  • Document review of datapackage submitted by the Manufacturer in charge of EGNOS system development;
  • Support to daily operations follow-up, assessment of Observations reports and/or Safety incidents,
  • Participation to internal & external technical meetings,
  • Support to the elaboration of Safety dossier produced in the objective to get approval of European Union Aviation Safety Agency (EASA).

Contribute to Safety activities performed by Safety team for Communication Service based on SATCOM:

  • Elaboration of Safety analyses on specific operations (e.g. changes and evolutions deployment …),
  • Document review of data package submitted by the Manufacturer in charge of system development and operations,
  • Support to daily operations follow-up, assessment of Observations reports etc.
  • Participation to ESSP internal & external technical meetings,
  • Support to the elaboration of Safety dossier produced in the objective to get approval of European Union Aviation Safety Agency (EASA).

The Safety Engineer performs the hereabove activities in close collaboration with other members of the Safety team.

Profile:

Generic Skills:

  • Good level of English (B1-B2) – CEFR
  • Rigour / detail-oriented,
  • Ability to analyse and synthesise
  • Interest to work in an international environment (European)

Specific Skills:

  • Specialization in Dependability / Safety (RAMS)
  • Interest/curiosity in technology of the following domains: space, aeronautic, air traffic management,
  • Knowledge of industrial processes for development of complex systems
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office

JOB SPECIFICATIONS:

Available for punctual travels mainly in Europe

Subject to constraints of minimum presence during normal vacation periods (July/August, Christmas, February, Easter).
