Robotics Intern (end-of-study) (m/f)
Start Date: July 2026 (As soon as possible)
Location: Paris HQ (with potential travel to Seoul)
About the Company
Videos of humanoid robots dancing, boxing, and doing backflips are impressive and fun to watch. But the question nobody has answered yet is: what happens when that robot is standing in an environment it hasn't "seen" before, like your kitchen?
Humanoid robots will enter our daily lives. Whether that's in 3 years or 10 depends on one thing: the brain running the software. Today's robots can move. They just can't think and plan autonomously in the messy, unstructured reality of a home environment.
That's the challenge we tackle at Lili-o. We build the autonomous brain that will power household robots—enabling them to understand their environment, plan long-horizon tasks, and act without human supervision. We are a French/Korean company and the creators of the very first autonomous data foundry built specifically for home environments.
Your Role
We are looking for a Robotics Software Integration Intern to join our technical team as the bridge between algorithmic R&D and the real robot.
Integrate internally developed modules and test them in real-world conditions.
Your Responsibilities
- Software Integration: Deploy R&D modules (perception, planning, control) onto the physical robot.
- Data Pipelines: Set up and run data collection pipelines on the robot.
- Testing & Logging: Write test protocols and maintain detailed experiment logs.
- Simulation: Contribute to simulation environments to replicate real-world scenarios before robot deployment.
- Benchmarking: Participate in designing evaluation benchmarks for new R&D modules.
- Iterate: Debug, optimize, and report results back to the research team.
Qualifications
- Proficiency in Python and/or C++.
- Comfort with mathematics (linear algebra, geometry, optimization).
- Comfort with Linux and command-line environments.
- Bonus: Experience with computer vision libraries (OpenCV, Open3D).
- Bonus: Understanding of control theory or robot kinematics.
- Bonus: Experience with a physics simulator (MuJoCo, Isaac Sim, PyBullet).
What we also value
- Versatility: Curious and at ease switching between different technical topics in the same day.
- Proactivity: Able to identify and raise issues without waiting to be asked.
- Clarity: Able to document work clearly in a small team environment.
- Adaptability: Comfortable in a fast-moving, early-stage startup environment.
- Passion: A genuine interest in robotics research.
Benefits
Most robotics internships keep you trapped in simulation. Here, you'll work on real robots in real home environments from day one. At Lili-o, R&D moves fast and your contributions ship directly onto the robot — no lengthy validation chains, no waiting. You'll see the impact of your work in the same week you write it.
This will be a dense, demanding internship — but you will learn an enormous amount in a very short time. You'll be exposed to the full stack of a cutting-edge robotics company, from low-level integration to research-grade evaluation.
Bonus: Depending on the project's progress, there may be opportunities to travel to our Seoul office in South Korea.
