Join Nimble One's vision of next-gen robotics, we are looking for talented and passionate Robotics Hardware Engineers !

Seniority & profile :

  • From 5 years of professional experience in hardware engineering for mechatronic or robotic systems.
  • A demonstrated ability to move fluidly between electronics, mechanical design, and embedded firmware to make things work end-to-end. You don't wait for the "right" person to fix it — you jump in.
  • Solid fundamentals in electronic design : schematic capture, PCB layout, power distribution, sensor interfacing. Comfortable debugging with an oscilloscope and a soldering iron.
  • Practical experience in mechanical design & integration : CAD, tolerancing, DFM/DFA, prototyping. You understand what happens when your design meets reality.
  • Working knowledge of embedded software : bare-metal or RTOS in C/C++ on STM32 or similar, communication buses (CAN, SPI, I2C, RS485, EtherCAT), basic motor control.
  • Master/Engineering degree — generalist or multi-disciplinary profiles (mechatronics, robotics) are especially welcome.

No deep specialization in one single domain is required, what matters is your ability to learn fast, adapt, and make the whole system work .

As a Robotics Hardware Engineer, you will work across the full physical stack of Aru :

  • Design, prototype & iterate on electronics, wiring, sensor integrations and actuator drive systems.
  • Solve mechanical integration puzzles — fitting everything into a tightly packaged quadruped, working hand-in-hand with the mechanical team.
  • Bring up and debug embedded systems — firmware for motor controllers, sensor chains, safety systems and communication interfaces.
  • Bridge the gap between hardware and software teams — ensuring control engineers have reliable, well-documented, real-time-capable hardware to work with.

This position is deeply hands-on. You'll spend as much time at the bench as at your desk. The role demands someone proactive, resourceful, and who thrives on variety — one morning reworking a PCB layout, the afternoon debugging a CAN bus, the next day redesigning a bracket to survive a drop test. Bringing Aru from prototype to a field-ready product requires someone who makes things converge, fast.

Nio Robotics, the makers of Aru Nio Robotics is a fast-growing robotic startup building Aru, an agile and capable mobile robot for applications as wide as the catalog of tools Aru can carry and use — from inspections in constrained spaces to maintenance, painting and more.

From Prototype to Industrialization During our Early Adopter Program, we're moving to industrialization and field deployments. Brace yourselves for a surge in team size, production, and challenges.

The soul of Nio Robotics : An ambitious startup going through the challenges of bringing a ground breaking product into the world

  • A small, tight team pushing in the same direction
  • An environment designed for self-improvment
