Responsibilities

  • Provide first‑line of defence risk management for Derivatives Clearing, Securities Finance and FX Prime Services businesses.
  • Manage client exposure through margining and limits, and contribute to the development and maintenance of risk and margin methodologies, analytical tools and reporting to support risk decision‑making.
  • Set and calibrate margin levels, control financing provided, and set appropriate client‑facing limits.
  • Negotiate strong risk terms with clients, including term financing arrangements.
  • Develop, calibrate and maintain risk and margining methodologies across products.
  • Enhance the model suite and build new analytical tools, including tactical margining solutions.
  • Perform daily credit risk and limit monitoring (VaR, ES, EPE, PFE), investigate large movements, and produce ad‑hoc/periodic reporting and early warning indicators.

Qualifications

  • Markets background with understanding of market risk for derivatives across asset classes.
  • Good understanding of counterparty risk (including hedge funds) and exposure to client default situations.
  • Proven experience in quantitative/statistical modelling and extensive data analysis.
  • Strong stakeholder management and communication skills (Front Office, Risk, Audit, Model Validation, Model Risk).
  • Strong programming skills in Python or R, plus SQL, and experience with market data (Bloomberg/Reuters).
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities, with awareness of regulatory rules and model governance standards.
