Retail Marketing Manager
The Retail Marketing Manager is a highly creative, forward-thinking individual. The Retail Marketing Manager supports retail and brand specific marketing initiatives at the local and national level. In this role, they are responsible for working directly with the Marketing Director to strategize and execute retail program activation which is inclusive of assisting with digital (email, SMS, social, programmatic, SEO etc.) and traditional (OOH, postcards, display, in-store signage, swag) marketing assets, utilizing a data driven approach to customer relationship management. The Retail Marketing manager reports to the Regional Marketing Director and works closely with the VP of Retail.
- Plan and implement marketing strategies, with input from Marketing Director, to target increased brand exposure, customer growth, and positive sales growth.
- Connect customer data and sales data to target audiences and build campaigns to promote to unique groups of customers; Gather data utilizing business reports, marketing analytics tools, and customer insights and surveys, to continuously improve results.
- Manage ecommerce websites for user experience, merchandising as relates to marketing messaging and strategy.
- Manage marketing platforms, while conducting market research on new advancements in cannabis technology and data capture.
- Partner with brand managers to improve margins by driving consumer demand for owned brands.
- Partner with graphic designer and Regional Marketing Director on organizing marketing content assets.
- Develop and execute all new store opening communications, marketing, and promotion.
- Input into the execution of content and social media strategy to boost customer engagement and brand awareness utilizing internal, external and influencer assets to reinforce The Company’s unique value.
- Develop a comprehensive library of educational content for both The Company / 3rd party brands/vendors.
- Partner with VP of Retail and members of the Ayr team to share, refine and implement best practices related to Retail Marketing on an ongoing basis.
- Develop promotions to maximize patient/customer traffic and revenue, accountable for promotional planograms and standards.
- Establish quantitative and qualitative goals on all marketing campaigns based on Retail KPI’s; Accountable for tracking, measuring, and reporting results with retail leadership.
- Develop and execute weekly retail newsletters.
- Develop and manage new product launch process in partnership with retail leadership.
- Develop and manage in-store marketing programming and look of success.
- Manage all high-level partner relationships with partner brands, cannabis listing sites, evaluation centers, and advocacy groups.
- Responsible for overseeing execution of event management, directing volunteer coordination efforts, logistics, booth setup, and overall presence across several industry-wide events and all in-store activations (internal / 3rd Party).
- Develop and maintain SOP’s through formalizing new and existing internal processes, policies and procedures as related to Ayr connected workflows.

- Bachelor’s degree or equivalent preferred..
- At least 2 years of experience managing/working in a high-paced team environment
- At least 5 years of marketing experience at brand or retail level required.
- Cannabis experience required.
- Fully engaged, team player with excellent communication skills.
- Knowledge of market research practices and techniques.
- Experience analyzing data.
- Knowledge of owned, earned, and paid platforms.
- Project management skills, with experience running large scope projects with cross over departments.
- Strong attention to detail and ability to prioritize in a fast-paced quick- changing environment.
- Self-starting, forward thinking idea generator with entrepreneurial spirit.
- Working knowledge of Microsoft Office. Applications (Outlook, Excel, Word, & PowerPoint)
- Reliable transportation, Driver’s license, and clean drivers record.
- Must be able to pass a Level 2 Background (FBI).
- Must be 21 years of age.
