Research Officer/Translator

Overview

The Permanent Mission of the Republic of Singapore in Geneva would like to invite suitable candidates to apply for a full-time contract position of a Research Officer/Translator.

Responsibilities

• Research Work
  • Monitor daily local newspapers and media and prepare daily press reports.
  • Conduct online research and prepare reports where required.
  • Follow local media conferences/media briefings/announcements from the government and international agencies and file reports.
• Translation/Interpretation
  • Translate into English relevant news articles from local and foreign language newspapers for the daily press reports.
  • Translate incoming mail from French/German into English, and vice-versa where necessary.
  • Provide interpretation support at meetings and events.
• Other duties
  • Assist in the Mission’s events and other administrative tasks when required.
  • Other duties as assigned by the supervisor.

Qualifications

• Good command of English, French and German.
• University degree with relevant experience. Prior related experience would be an advantage.
• Reasonable IT and Microsoft applications knowledge.
